Jack Baker At Large Service Scholarship
'Siyo nigadv,
I am pleased to announce that the Jack Baker At Large Service Scholarship is open and taking applications. These are $1000 awards to At Large Cherokee Nation citizen students who will be attending accredited four-year institutions in the fall of 2025. The award is for academic years 2025-26.
The scholarship is administered by the Tulsa Community Foundation, and funded by a donation from me using Community Assistance funds of the Cherokee Nation. It is open for applications from students who reside anywhere outside the Cherokee Nation reservation boundaries. To apply, go to
https://tcf.spectrumportal.net/
Applicants should use an email address they will have access to post- graduation. A personal account as opposed to a school assigned account works best as school accounts are often decommissioned and the student might need access to their profile in the future.
The Tulsa Community Foundation encourages applicants to visit the “View All Available Scholarships” section over the next few months to learn about other scholarship opportunities offered through Tulsa Community Foundation for which they might be eligible.
The application deadline for the Jack Baker At Large Service Scholarship is March 31, 2025.
In addition, the Cherokee Nation Scholarship is also accepting applications for the 2025-26 academic year. At Large citizens who are eligible for the federal Pell Grant, which is an income-based grant, are also eligible for the Cherokee Nation Scholarship. Apply first for the Pell at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa and then for the Cherokee Nation Scholarship at https://cherokee.org/all-services/education-services/college-resources/higher-education/. Students who have been funded for ATY 2024-25 should also apply to be re-funded for '25-'26.
